MILAN FASHION WEEK

There are not so many cities that can boast such an important title Milan is one of the them as the expression of the highest standards of Italian tailoring. Milan Fashion Week is a world wide event that houses every year the last trends of global fashion in a unique frame made with beauty and charm. Quadrilatero d’Oro is known around the world for its haute couture boutiques including the most important Italian brands as Versace, Armani and Prada. These artists have contributed to spread Italian style throughout the world thanks to a ceaseless quest for beauty and perfection.

Milan is also important as a base for many famous tailoring and design schools such as PoliModa, Marangoni Institute and Politecnico in Industrial Design so that it’s really easy to understand why it’s the capital of Italian style and tailoring.

The best from Milan

Prada’ collection is a combination of clothes’ punk vibes and feminine touches and as a result it reminds us the do-it-yourself outfits of 80’s club and street style.

Alberta Ferretti is another representative of Italian style and tailoring. At Milan Fashion Week she shows sleek black maillots that could be a real renovation compared with her past style. She paired the one-pieces with studded jelly sandals and nylon windbreakers, inspired by the women she saw on holiday last Summer.

Angela Missoni’s 20th anniversary collection for Missoni was festive and celebratory. Sheer dresses in bright hues opened her show and sparkly lurex dresses had a second skin appeal for those brave enough to wear them.

Fendi always surprises for its ability to use leather and fur in a creative way.

Models have a vaguely punk look wearing leather trenches, flared collars and retro patterned gowns.

Outfits convey a sense of fun and romanticism in the best tradition of Italian tailoring. That’s why Milan amazes its audience with a collection that can inspire people about a thousand creative outfit ideas. These trends are well represented by Gucci one of the most important Italian style brand. Trousers   with green stripe, embellished loafers and pussy-bow adorned dresses are Alessandro Michele’s creations.

Weird accessories at Milan Fashion Week

A neck pillow is a really strange accessory for a fashion week but Maison Margiela shows it as a luxury gadget which is essential to fly with charm and elegance. It’s also relatable and aspirational: what are you asking more from a fashion neck pillow?

Calvin Klein has created a pom-pom handbag with leather stringing that seems to keep it safe from prying eyes and surely those of us who didn’t make it into the cheerleading squad will finally be fully equipped for any routine.

Thanks to his genius he spread Italian tailoring throughout the world renewing Italian style with colors and provocative creations.
